Unauthorised access reported by PageUp – update 20 June 2018
St Barbara is among a significant number of Australian and global organisations which may have been impacted by unauthorised IT access reported by PageUp, an HR technology provider we use to assist with our recruitment activities.
PageUp has provided information on the activity at www.pageuppeople.com/unauthorised-activity-on-it-system/and is updating this webpage with additional information as it comes to hand. It is possible some personal information provided to us as part of our recruitment process may have been compromised. PageUp will provide a separate notice to all affected, and potentially affected, individuals of the PageUp system.
St Barbara is not currently aware of any fraudulent activity relating to any personal information as a result of the unauthorised activity. However, we recommend that anyone who has applied for a position with St Barbara should take the following steps:
- Change any passwords you use (social media, bank accounts, etc) that may be the same as the password you originally provided to PageUp. We recommend that you do not use the same password to access multiple services.
- Monitor your accounts for any unusual activity. If you suspect you could be a victim of identity fraud, we recommend contacting IDCARE (www.idcare.org or 1300 432 273), which offers personalised support to individuals who are concerned about their personal information.
- www.idcare.org also provides other useful information, including its Cyber First Aid Kit.
